I am happy to announce that on October 25th I will be releasing my sophomore album which is called Genuine. On November 7th I will be celebrating with a release party at the Simcoe Rec Centre in the Norfolk Room (upstairs). Doors will open at 7:30 pm and there will be alcoholic drinks available for purchase, but this IS an all ages event. There will be a $10 entry fee at the door. T-shirts and CDs will also be available for purchase, please bring cash! (shirts $20 each or 2 for $30, CDs $7 each or 2 for $10) Music will be provided by Smout Out Loud, and I will be performing some songs from the album around 8:30pm. So, apparently my song "Pray For A Better Day" got nominated for an American Songwriting Award! I wasn't a finalist, and I didn't win, but this was definitely another step towards the world recognizing my music. Hey all! Just thought I'd give you a little update. On March 15th I attended the 2015 Juno Awards, which was a really cool experience and a great night. Thank you to CARAS for the complimentary tickets! Also, I have been nominated for a Hamilton Music Award in the Rap/Hip-Hop Recording Of The Year category for my album Everything Changed! ( https://b-flix.bandcamp.com/album/everything-changed ) This is my first ever music award nomination, so I'm pretty excited! On May 23rd, the night before the awards event, I will be performing at Club Absinthe in Hamilton, Ontario as part of a Hip-Hop showcase leading up to the awards. As some of you may know I am a twenty-one year old R&B/Hip-Hop artist, and as most of you probably know I am confined to a power wheelchair. At about a year of age I was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a neuromuscular disease that affects my nerves and ability to build muscle. Despite any obstacles I face, I continue to move forward with a positive attitude, and the goal to show the world that individuals like myself can contribute to society. Seeing as how the 2015 Juno Awards are in Hamilton this year (only about a fourty five minute drive from my home), I thought I would look into getting some tickets to the event (I was hoping that maybe my music would be nominated- unfortunately it wasn’t my year, but you never know what the future holds, right?). As I started perusing Ticketmaster for ticket options, I was unpleasantly surprised to discover that wheelchair seating was going to cost $166.75 a ticket for me to attend.
